GES Character Pledge:

Our school pledge has changed for the year.  It is:

I pledge today to do my best,

In reading, math and all the rest.

I promise to obey the rules,

In my class and in our school.

I'll respect myself and others too,

I'll expect the best in all I do.

I am here to learn all I can,

To try my best and be all I am!

Bring Your Grandparents to Lunch Day

Students eat chicken and noodles with their grandparents during their lunch hour. On October 25th, it was “Bring your Grandparents to Lunch day” at the Gridley Elementary School.

Bullying & Drug Prevention Day

Middle school STUCO and the Coffey County Sheriff Department K-9 Unit went to Gridley Elementary School to talk about bullying and drug prevention. The Sheriff department brought their K-9 dog to show students how he locates certain drugs and talked about the history of training him to be a K-9 dog. STUCO then talked to the elementary about what bullying is, how to identify it, and what to do when you see it happening. Elementary students then signed an agreement to "We agree...Bullying and Drug Free!"

9/11 Remembrance

The Kindergartners and the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes attend a ceremony in remembrance of the September 11th attacks. The classes circled around the flag pole as it was raised and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. They then tied ribbons to the school fences to commemorate those lost. It is good to see children remembering the events and fallen heroes of September 11th, 2001. God bless America.
